IBS Internet Research
In One Place

Information on this website was assimilated by an Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) sufferer who has been on a journey to improve their IBS symptoms and quality of life by carrying out in depth internet research and applying dietary and lifestyle changes from the facts gleaned. The researcher is not a trained medical professional, but wishes to share the research so that it may help others on a similar journey. The website does not seek to replace interactions with your health care teams.

Please note that IBS has a number of causes which are still under investigation. This means that what works for one person may not necessarily work for another. Additionally, the information and studies found regarding IBS can be contradictory at times. Subsequently, the same topic in each section may be discussed from different angles. However, this means that sufferers can weigh up the variety of facts and take an approach that they feel comfortable with.

Initially, there is a description of IBS followed by IBS Researcher’s own journey with IBS, the many pitfalls experienced with certain approaches and lessons learned along the way. One of the aims of this website is to pass on those lessons so that other sufferers can avoid making the same mistakes and find relief sooner.

IBS symptoms can overlap with other conditions. It is best not to assume that you have IBS. Speak with your doctor about any symptoms that have not been explored by them, so they can carry out tests and come up with a treatment plan.
